Edwina Rankin Miller

Edwina Rankin Miller, formally of Blackwell, earned her wings on 12/24/2020 in Chesapeake, VA after a brief illness.
Edwina loved the time she lived here in Blackwell and loved going to Wheatheart daily for her hot lunch and to visit with the girls, Grace, Ann, Pauline, Nellie plus many others. She loved shopping at our Walmart and United because after living in Tucson for 50 years, she was amazed at how friendly everyone was and how so many of the cashiers knew her name. She adored Dr. Briggs and his nurse Michelle and the receptionist Kathy, who also lived across the street from her.
She said many times that Dr. Briggs saved her life when she first moved here in 4/2017 and had to be hospitalized. She really enjoyed meeting Dr. Shuart and Phil Green and loved the great care she received while in the hospital at BRH. She loved to read, so we made many trips to Brace Books and every time she bought books she would always tell the ladies how nice their store was and how they had a good selection.
She really appreciated the staff at the Blackwell Animal Hospital and deeply appreciated the fact Dr. Wyckoff came to her house to put her much loved old dog, Sparky to sleep. Edwina loved how friendly everyone was to her from the Blackwell Police Department to the Blackwell Fire Department and the ladies at City Hall. Edwina is survived by her sister, Diane Gerian Martin of Chesapeake, VA and John Gerian of Blackwell, her nephews Charles Gerian and John Tolson and her very sweet cat Cleo.
We would like to thank everyone who has expressed their sympathy to us and to tell each of you how much we appreciated everyone’s kindness to Edwina while she lived here.
