Blackwell Youth Center to host several events starting Friday

The Blackwell Youth Center is celebrating the end of the school year with two big events before they launch their summer arts & crafts program, according to Youth Center Director Denise Hindman.
Registration for the summer arts & crafts program will begin this Friday, May 17, from 7 pm - 10 pm at the Youth Center building on 131 E. Ikerd. Another day of registration will be held next Wednesday, May 22 from 1 pm - 5 pm.
The cost for the program is $30 and classes will be held June 3-6 and June 10-13. Class times are Monday - Thursday with morning and afternoon classes offered from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 pm - 3 pm.

Next week, the Youth Center will be hosting a Schools Out dance party on Thursday May 23 from 7 pm - 9 pm with the cost being $5.
That Friday, May 24, there will be an “Open Mic Night” for 5th grade and up from 7 pm - 9:30 pm where students can show off their talents. Entry for the Open Mic Night is $5.
