Rodney Alan Williams

 Rodney Alan Williams, age 70, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on September 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 28, 1956, in Blackwell to James and Joyce (Loveall) Williams. 

Rodney grew up in Blackwell and began working as a teenager, changing tires at the Blackwell Co-op. He later spent nearly a decade in the oil fields before becoming a general mechanic at GE, where he worked until retiring at age 62—on his birthday. He was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical skill, and his willingness to help anyone who needed a hand. 

On June 8, 1974, Rodney married Kristina Harris, and together they built a family and raised three children. Rodney was a devoted father whose quiet strength and steady presence shaped the lives of those he loved. 

In his spare time, Rodney enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting and working on old cars—passions that brought him joy throughout his life and reflected his love of the outdoors and all things mechanical. 

Rodney is survived by his sister Emily (Marlin) Kahle of Blackwell; his brothers Richard (Andy) Williams and Claude Williams; and his children Jenifer (James) Hamil of Groves, Texas; Jeremy (Shelly) Williams of Blackwell; and Jessica (Cory) Engle of Blackwell. 

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Devin and Dylan (Alex) Hamil; Garrett, Kaylee, and Jenna Williams; and Caitlyn (Brayden), Courtney, and Makayla Engle. 

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Scene Williams and William (Bill) Williams. 

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his loyalty to family, and the steady, hardworking life he lived.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Blackwell Cemetery.
